W-Women Globally

Having in mind the Mother’s Day, soon to come, I found this very inspiring article about 5 very successful businesswomen describing the influence their moms had for their daughters’ life and career. The article has been published in Forbes.com under title: Career Coaches, Motivators and Muses and it is written by Heidi Brown in the sction ForbesWoman.

The five women who tell the stories about her moms are: Paula Pretlow, senior vice president of client relations at Capital Guardian Trust Company in San Francisco, Barbara Corcoran,  real estate mogul (see photo), Kate Putnam, owner of Package Machinery Company in Springfield, Amy Schulman, general counsel at Pfizer in New York and Kelley Skoloda, a partner at public relations firm Ketchum in Pittsburgh.

They are all coming from different backgrounds and family contexts, but common for all stories are the strong and ambitious mothers who – many times needed to resign from her own career but by their decisions and behaviour formed their daughters to be prepared for the challenges life brings.
