Today, Huffington Post features a list of top 11 activists on twitter who are worth following.
I concentrated on women on this list…
Amanda Rose‘s Twestival has raised over half a million dollars for various causes over the last two years. The next Twestival, in March 2010, will raise money for educational causes, with a focus on some of the poorest regions in the world
Veronica De La Cruz’s brother Eric died while awaiting a heart transplant. He could not get insurance due to a pre-existing condition. Now, this television journalist tweets with the tag #ERIC to fight for health care reform.
A top nonprofit consultant, Beth Kanter is helping charitable organizations join the 2.0 and use social media to their advantage. It’s doubtful that ‘charity: water’ would have the reach it does if not for her influence.
Stephanie Rudat co-founded the Alliance of Youth Movements, which aims to use technology to encourage positive change in the world. Rudat is endlessly positive and describes herself as a “social entrepreneur with a bleeding heart.”
4 women only? I bet there are mush more…
